While I'm happy for you that you suffered minimal damage, what does that have to do with all the people who have suffered much more damage?
I made sure I lived in a more protected area and hurricane proofed my house. What did the others do to protect themselves? A fact of life living in a hurricane zone is you have to protect your home!! Failure causes much damage. The Boy Scout motto applies,
Be Prepared. My home is cat5 protected!!!
Hurricane straps holding down the roof.
Cat5 windows.
Concrete block building.
A tornado could damage it but not a hurricane!!
